  1. Focus on establishing and maintaining strong intellectual control over content throughout the life cycle of electronic resources licensed by Yale University Library (YUL). 2. Supervise staff responsible for maintaining key e-resource systems and workflows. Participate in hiring, training, coaching and evaluating the work of staff members.3. Work closely with staff across the Electronic Resources and Serials teams and with partner departments to ensure efficient acquisition and access to electronic resources for library users. Provide e-resource expertise both internally to library staff and externally to vendors and the larger Yale community.4. Participate in planning and implementing new services, and supporting and improving existing services.5. Responsible for ensuring consistency in service quality, best practices, and procedures.6. Contribute advanced knowledge to departmental troubleshooting support, resolving access-related problems,responding to reported issues, and working with internal and external partners to fix issues in a timely manner.7. Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices related to e-resources.8. Play an active role in e-resource related projects and initiatives as assigned. Required Skill/ability 1: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience is required. Required Skill/ability 2: The ability to apply the principles that guide the organization of bibliographic information to the organization of electronic resources. Demonstrated ability with library acquisitions. Required Skill/ability 3: An understanding of the best practices for managing the systems and data that track electronic purchases, subscriptions, and licenses. Required Skill/ability 4: Demonstrated ability working in a library management system (LMS). Conceptual and practical knowledge of the technologies used to manage and access e-resources. Required Skill/ability 5: Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated analytical and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Preferred Education: Demonstrated ability managing acquisitions processes within an LMS. Knowledge of e-resource licensing and the legal framework in which it takes place. Understanding of access issues as they pertain to the discovery and use of e-resources. Demonstrated record of designing projects and completing them in a timely manner. Demonstrated capability to effectively supervise, train and motivate staff. Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school. In selected instances, a post-graduate degree in a related discipline may be required or substituted for a master's degree in library science.2.
