The Department of Economics at Yale University (New Haven, CT) invites applications for three (3) Course Director positions. Course Directors are appointed at the rank of a Lecturer and participate in undergraduate teaching, assisting instructors of record to administer and deliver course content and assessment. These positions will focus on large introductory and intermediate level courses such as microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics. Specific responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) organizing and conducting discussion sections and office hours; organizing and participating in grading; assisting in creating assignments or solutions; contributing to the training of graduate-student teaching assistants and undergraduate peer tutors and managing their activities in the course; communications and record keeping for the course. More generally, course directors work closely with faculty members to ensure that these courses are successful and run smoothly. Applicants should have a passion for teaching and for improving the undergraduate experience. The positions will begin on August 1, 2024, and initially will be offered for a one (1) academic year term, renewable for three (3) years based on performance.
