  1. Develops and oversees execution of operational goals, objectives, practice and procedures. Contributes to the development of policies. 2. Supervises day-to-day activities of support staff. Responsible for staff performance management and evaluation and for workforce planning. 3. Evaluates work requests to determine if they are appropriate to unit; ensures that work flow is organized and unit is staffed for quality efficient completion. 4. Assess available options and identify and implement solutions to financial, administrative and technical issues; ensure consistent application of solutions within the policies and practices of the University and the unit. 5. Participates in long and short-range planning for work unit needs. 6. Develops, implements, and manages a training metrics system to track unit performance. 7. Develops and maintains budgets. 8. Interacts with University personnel to define work assignments and requirements and to plan and coordinate projects. 9. Interacts with external sources to manage work necessary to fulfill projects, keep abreast of new products and technologies, or arrange for subcontractors. 10. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Skill/ability 1: Well-developed planning, organizational, problem-solving skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service. Required Skill/ability 2: Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to address the needs of individuals at all levels throughout leadership and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Required Skill/ability 3: Proficient in Microsoft Office and demonstrated experience using Excel. Required Skill/ability 4: Demonstrated ability working in Epic with extensive knowledge of template management. Required Skill/ability 5: Demonstrated ability to run reports, analyze, and synthesize data to present to leadership. Preferred Education: Ophthalmology knowledge and/or QGenda management preferred.
