  1. Provide day-to-day operations oversight for the department. Hire, train and supervise support staff and student employees. Identify priorities, distribute and monitor work, and ensure adherence to deadlines and relevant procedures and policies. Approve time off and schedules. 2. Oversee use and operation of campus buildings and other spaces assigned to or used by the department. Monitor facilities for regular upkeep of spaces, identifying routine and emergency maintenance needs, helping to resolve issues and coordinating with relevant university departments and internal/external service providers to ensure corrective action is taken. Review and approve contractor invoices for payment. Participate in the planning for and coordination of renovation projects. 3. Provide wide-ranging logistics and programming support for the array of programs and activities sponsored by the department including supply purchasing, vendors and service provider agreements and contracts, communication, and transportation. Ensure the smooth functioning of events in the set-up, presentation and conclusion. Coordinate interaction between building staff and outside vendors. Act as coordinator and problem solver for all special programs. 4. Assist in developing and overseeing department budget. Approve/monitor all expenditures, payroll and other financial transactions. Manage all income and approve expenditures for events. Approve invoices for payment. Analyze and recommend solutions to accounting issues. 5. Help support communications efforts including drafting correspondence, reports, and other materials. 6. Interface with student and external groups in the organization of events and community outreach opportunities. Required Skill/ability 1: Administrative and organizational abilities; office management and supervisory skills. Required Skill/ability 2: Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; demonstrated ability to use sound, independent judgement, and work as a team player. Required Skill/ability 3: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel. Ability to be comfortable learning new technologies. Required Skill/ability 4: Professionalism, maturity, and an ability to work with sensitive issues and maintain strict confidentiality. Preferred Education: Demonstrated experience in managing relationships and influencing outcomes. Demonstrated creativity and effectiveness in a complex organization. Familiarity with Workday.
