  1. Manages all aspects of designated budget and financial management services portfolios. Serves as the primary contact and escalation point for all budget and financial management issues for designated portfolios. 2. Executes implementation of major strategic financial planning and analysis projects within designated portfolios, assembling and directing cross-departmental project teams. 3. Develops and maintains deep knowledge of both Yale finance and budgeting processes and applicable federal, state and university policies and procedures and the business of designated portfolios and associated leadership to provide relevant, strategic and value-add budget and financial management services. 4. Acts as a change agent to refine budget and financial management processes in order to achieve simplicity, speed and quality for both Yale's Financial Planning and Analysis department and administrative and academic departments. 5. Manages the development and monitoring of detailed budgets across the portfolio; ensures maintenance of budgets in university systems. Manages the preparation and analysis of financial data and reports. 6. Creates and updates comprehensive long-range financial plan(s) across that entire area. Prepares all-funds budgets operating and capital budgets, analyzes financial activities and performance against budget. 7. Leads analysis and interpretation of highly complex data analyses; communicates trends; identifies deficiencies in business operations and recommends process and system changes and training needs. Assesses potential internal control issues and recommends solutions. 8. Manages financial analyst staff. 9. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Skill/ability 5: Solid understanding of internal control concepts and the implementation of internal control systems in a complex business environment. Strong computer skills including Excel required.
