HERC Assessment Program Manager in New Haven, Connecticut

  1. Designs and contributes to the implementation of faculty and student assessment programs intended to improve the quality and effectiveness of students' education. Prepares and submits recommendations to TLC Director on best approaches. 2. Key contributor in the long-range planning discussions and decisions that have programmatic impact. Recommends and contributes to the development of policies. 3. Develops systems for managing and collecting data regarding faculty and student assessments. Leads projects to continuously improve the use of technology. Collaborates on the development of innovative assessment techniques. 4. Identifies metrics and works with clients to design methodologies for communicating achievement of goals. 5. Manages collection of assessment data from disparate sources. Tracks performance progress, problems and improvements. Provides feedback, advice and counseling to department chairs regarding the assessment tools and reporting capabilities. 6. Develops and analyzes statistical data to determine patterns and trends that impact and inform the direction of faculty and student assessment. 7. Writes publications to disseminate to educational leaders of developments within the assessment arena. 8. Writes, organizes and conducts presentations for target audiences (faculty, chairs, students) to communicate value and capabilities of the programs.

Preferred Education: A Master in Public Health degree or advanced degree in a related field such as education. Working knowledge of textual analytic software, Apple operating systems and experience in designing and preparing posters on research or projects for presentation at regional or national meetings.

Required Skill/ability 5: Established advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint. Skills in using other statistical software packages. Advanced skills in Qualtrics for survey design and data reporting.

Required Skill/ability 4: Demonstrated ability to synthesize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data into a format for presentation to committees and YSM leadership as well as formulate recommendations based on the data and write summary analysis reports.

Required Skill/ability 2: Demonstrated ability to oversee complex processes and schedules with a high level of organization and administrative skills including outstanding tracking and follow up. Bachelor's Degree in relevant field and five years of experience in faculty and student assessment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
