The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a residential, sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides services to over 700 individuals who have been civilly committed for sexual offending. MSOP is a national leader in the industry and is committed to providing services on the leading edge of the comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of clients. MSOP has facilities in Moose Lake and St. Peter, MN. MSOP Moose Lake site serves clients in the earlier stages of treatment in a secure setting.

Our team in Moose Lake, MN is seeking a dynamic, dedicated individual to join us for a unique and rewarding opportunity as a Rehabilitation Counselor Senior working in Education and Volunteer Services under Clinical Programming. This position provides rehabilitation counseling services and psycho-educational programming to civilly committed clients at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) Moose Lake.

  • Develop and implement clinical programming that provides opportunities for clients to develop skills and competencies introduced in treatment.

  • Facilitate specialized therapy work or psychoeducational programming that meets the needs of the clients.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and report writing

  • Participate in staff meetings and special projects as assigned for the purpose of enhancing MSOP programming and for professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) years combined experience in at least 4 of the 6 activities listed below:

  • Engaging clients in therapeutic relationships

  • Monitoring, documenting and evaluating processes and procedures

  • Providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities, mentally ill or adjudicated sexual offense populations

  • Experience developing and implementing treatment or rehabilitation plans that addresses behavior through adaptations, activities, interventions, education, engagement, and support¿¿

  • Planning and facilitating recreational, educational or rehabilitation activities ¿¿

  • Providing counseling and behavior management to individuals with developmental disabilities, mentally ill or adjudicated sexual offense populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation (Vocational and Counseling), Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or Sociology
