This position will work on-site at the MSOP Moose Lake, MN facility

Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) – Moose Lake, MN Facilities Team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Physical Plant Director! This position will lead, direct, and manage plant operations of the MSOP-Moose Lake Physical Plant Department at the secure treatment facility.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Coordinate plant operations staff and resources.

  • Provide oversight and direction for the management of work teams, standards, and schedules related to structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, security systems, and equipment maintenance.

  • Manage the administrative functions within construction and plant operations.

  • Assess plant operations work quality and quantity to identify, recommend and/or implement system and process improvements.

  • Collaborate and partner division leaders and staff to communicate and provide input on facility planning and decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership experience. Leadership experience can include:

  • Experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead;

  • Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI, L4);

  • A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g. ERG) - experience must include:

  • 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals and strategic actions

  • 100+ hours per year time commitment

AND

Four (4) years of experience managing or directing physical plant operations and construction projects that demonstrates the following:

  • Experience developing and managing facility operating and construction budgets and anticipating future facility needs.

  • Knowledge of construction codes (building, plumbing, fire safety, electrical, mechanical, OSHA), security systems, and other public safety requirements.

  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written communication skills.

  • Possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Management experience in a secured institutional setting.

  • Minnesota Chief Boilers License.

  • Minnesota Master Electrician License.

  • Degree in construction management, facilities management, or related.
