The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides comprehensive services to 740 civilly committed clients. Services include sex offense specific treatment, education programming, therapeutic recreation, vocational programming, and volunteer services.
The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is seeking an individual to join our team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a General Maintenance Worker for our Moose Lake, MN location.
The General Maintenance Worker performs housekeeping tasks and minor equipment repairs in all buildings of the Minnesota Sex Offender Program – Moose Lake campus. In this role, the General Maintenance Worker demonstrates a responsiveness to facility needs, supporting a safe and secure facility in which clients receive quality professional services in a therapeutic environment that is safe for staff, visitors, and clients.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Performing housekeeping, sanitation, and general maintenance work so that a safe, sanitary and aesthetically sound environment is maintained
Providing guidance, direction, and assistance to client workers so that clients receive planned, coordinated, and comprehensive treatment
Cleaning and maintaining floors, appropriately disposing of garbage and recyclable materials, snow/ice removal
Maintaining and performing minor repairs on tools and equipment so equipment is kept serviceable and in good working order
Minimum Qualifications
A High School diploma or GED, be at least 18 years of age, and have the following:
Knowledge of:
Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment
Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely
Methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs
Ability to:
Follow basic oral and written instructions
Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction
Keep basic records
Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions

Preferred Qualifications
Experience performing housekeeping or janitorial work within a large complex
