The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides comprehensive services to 740 civilly committed clients. Services include sex offense specific treatment, education programming, therapeutic recreation, vocational programming, and volunteer services.

The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is seeking an individual to join our team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Building Services Lead for our Moose Lake, MN location.

The Building Services Lead is responsible for the execution of an effective cleaning program on the Minnesota Sex Offender Program – Moose Lake campus. In this role, the Building Services Lead will review & evaluate work performed by the General Maintenance Workers, train, motivate and supervise client workers in general housekeeping duties.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide lead work, direction, and training to General Maintenance Workers and assigned client workers on standard cleaning procedures

  • Perform housekeeping, sanitation and building services lead work, while providing supervision, direction and assistance to client workers, so that a safe, sanitary and aesthetically sound environment is maintained.

  • Maintain tools and equipment and make minor repairs to ensure they are kept serviceable and in good working order.

  • Estimate materials, supplies and equipment needs for the annual budget and maintain an accurate inventory of supplies within the work site for daily assigned duties and for special projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or GED, be at least 18 years of age, and have the following:

  • Knowledge of:

  • Principles of lead work sufficient to plan, lead and provide training to departmental staff

  • Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment

  • Cleaning supplies, chemicals, and possible chemical reactions

  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment involved in light maintenance (i.e. carpentry, painting, simple machine repairs)

  • Basic computer and e-mail usage, plus word processing, database and spreadsheet software sufficient to maintain electronic records and complete reports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing housekeeping or janitorial work within a large complex

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
