The tax accountant is primarily responsible for assisting and supporting the sales & use tax audits and real property appeals to minimize the corporate tax burden of these areas through effective research, planning and innovation. The position will have responsibility for managing, monitoring, and tracking assigned sales & use tax audits as well as real property appeals.

What you will do

This position will work on indirect tax audits for Lowe’s primarily related to state and local sales and use tax and provide support on property tax appeals and other local jurisdictional indirect taxes applicable to Company business activities. The primary purpose of this position will involve assisting with and managing sales and use tax audits and real property appeals for the US. Secondary responsibilities include preparation and filing of tax returns, general ledger account reconciliations, SOX internal control testing, and tax research on various topics. The position will also be required to answer tax related questions from stores and vendors via phone and email.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

• 2+ years of tax and/or accounting experience (public or private)

• Masters in Accounting or Tax can be substituted for experience

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Access and Word

• Strong analytical skills with ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

• 1-3 Years experience in the preparation of corporate income and payroll tax returns

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Experience with CorpTax preferred

Pay Range: $58,100.00 - $96,900.00 annually Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
