Lowe's Senior Director Strategic Tax in Mooresville, North Carolina

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees all tax related matters for development of enterprise tax strategy, execution of strategic tax planning, assessment of tax impacts of new business development, support of Lowe’s charity and benefit plans, strategic transactions and M&A.

• Ensures objectives are met for all tax related matters in support of tax compliance for new business initiatives, tax policy outreach, tax planning and operationalizing new legislation.

• Drives execution of the short and long-term strategic goals for areas of responsibility.

• Stays up to date and informed on the changing external landscape for tax and business related matters to ensure the tax strategy positions the business successfully for the future.

• Holds a deep understanding of the company’s strategic priorities, current legal/tax structures, current federal and state tax laws and key stakeholders, to ensure all areas of tax are effectively positioned to maximize value and operational success.

• Fosters strong relationships across the enterprise with senior level leaders and at times, executives in certain functions including Merchandising, Human Resources, Legal, and Store Operations, to ensure effective collaboration within the respective teams.

• Collaborates with finance, legal and business development groups on due diligence for any potential M&A activity, ensuring the tax organization effectively communicates potential tax implications and make recommendations for cost efficient results.

• Ensures all tax matters are handled in support for the Lowe’s Foundation.

• Leads the team for the successful delivery of the LERF program to ensure we are managing associate requests/communication, accurate reporting and compliance.

• Drives process improvement initiatives and other potential tax benefit initiatives.

• Communicates with and educates senior leaders and at times, executives on tax implications of various matters including any changes to the business and new tax legislation.

• Develops a high-performing, diverse leadership team to attract, develop, coach, retain and reward top talent within the organization.

• Creates an inclusive environment across the organization to foster diverse ideas and perspectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• 12 years experience in corporate tax and/or accounting (public or private)

• 8 years experience leading teams, partnering with cross-functional business units to ensure sound tax strategy and compliance

• 5 years experience working directly with executive and senior level leaders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading global teams outside the US

• Experience with a Fortune 500 company

• Experience with a retail or multi-unit company

• CPA certifications
