Lowe's Director Services Compliance Strategy & Execution in Mooresville, North Carolina

Your Impact

The Director of Services Compliance Strategy & Execution is principally responsible for leading a team to support the Services program portfolio from a compliance perspective. This includes ensuring appropriate licensure for Lowe's, enforcement of federal guidelines including OSHA/EPA, code compliance, adherence to state/local regulations and ensuring customer satisfaction and risk mitigation with installation projects. Knowledge of the construction industry, federal guidelines (OSHA/EPA/etc.), permitting/code requirements, and ability to build and maintain relationships will be essential for success. Responsibilities also consist of leading a team with the knowledge of any/all relevant compliance regulations, laws, processes and codes and guiding the strategy for operational excellence in execution. This also comprises of interactions with regulatory agencies, associations, boards, inspectors as well as attending conferences essential for maintaining industry knowledge and standards in the compliance arena. Additional responsibilities consist of conducting & ensuring execution of job site inspections and/or audits in conjunction with store/field teams, and fostering relationships within the building official industry. This will entail conducting regular meetings with stakeholders to provide business updates, discover training needs and/or operational gaps from the compliance perspective and developing plans to rectify which may include defining technology requirements for system enhancements. This position will require individual to utilize problem solving skills and critical thinking in time sensitive situations that may directly impact the customer experience and company brand. The Dir Services Compliance Strategy & Execution will provide full leadership over direct reports, and will work cross functionally providing leadership to support compliance initiatives as appropriate. This role is critical to Lowe's as it enables the successful evolution of the Services portfolio to legally enable sales, mitigate risks, improve profitability and customer experiences.

What you will do

  • Leads a team ensuring that labor installations are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations through strategy and execution adherence.

  • Promotes company activities by serving as a leader and brand ambassador with both internal and external stakeholders acting as primary decision-maker regarding resolution to any action related to Services Compliance.

  • Ensures EPA compliance on the federal, state, and local for any service provided by Lowe's. Documents/reviews all EPA complaints and develops reports of findings and recommended resolution to senior leadership.

  • Oversees development of licensure strategy and maintenance of comprehensive information related to applicable license requirements to assure the company practices are accurate and accessible as a resource to be used across the organization.

  • Collaborates effectively across the Services Compliance organization to ensure all licenses are obtained and in good standing for Lowe’s current and projected programs.

  • Leads and directs a team using data to take actions in strategy definition or execution adjustments that drive efficiency, mitigate risk, reduce expenses & licensure board complaints and improve customer satisfaction in installation categories.

  • Identifies developmental needs of team members and provides coaching and other developmental opportunities to enhance knowledge or skills.

  • Manages resources, budgets and expenses as related to Services Compliance for the purpose of sponsoring, educating, fostering relationships, and holding accountable to all compliance related activities

  • Collaborates and communicates cross functionally with internal and external groups, including but not limited to: Store/Field/SSC Associates and Leaders, Building Officials, Customer, Legal, Claims, Risk, Code Enforcement, Contractor/Licensing Entities, and Independent PROvider network to educate, alleviate risks or implement new service programs.

  • Leads team for designing, developing, and implementing blended learning solutions that address root cause issues to drive business performance for all applicable Lowe’s teams including Central Selling, Installation Support Team, Stores, Field teams, etc. in the support of compliance initiatives (i.e. Salesperson’s licensure, EPA requirements, etc.).

  • Has extensive construction industry knowledge and maintains knowledge of industry standards; plans and coordinates travel to build/maintain relationships with any and all municipal officials, field teams, and stores.

  • Holds team accountable to being Subject Matter Experts as compliance generalists including all 50 state regulatory requirements, permitting processes, OSHA, EPA, Contracts, Partial Payment and any other applicable compliance topic.

  • Coordinates and directs multiple concurrent projects or programs, identifying interdependencies within and across programs and ensuring strategy and execution align to Services objectives.

  • Communicates program expectations, current/updated process to be executed, using most effective communication vehicle that ensure compliance with all company policies

  • Provides support in delivering on PROvider network strategy evolving policies and procedures to mitigate risks.

  • Oversees the negotiation and contracting with third party services to support compliance strategies as needed ensuring third party services meet capacity and targeted service levels.

  • This position manages/supervises people

Required Qualifications:

  • High School or GED With work history in analytical, research or compliance roles and 11 years experience in a services, compliance, construction or equivalent environment including leadership OR Bachelor's Degree Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Administration, or related field and 7 years experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously including project design and/or management skills

  • Experience negotiating contracts and building relationships.

  • Experience in program/project or category management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree MBA or Construction Related field

  • 3 years experience in merchandising/store operations

  • Knowledge of Lowe's merchandising system

  • High degree of familiarity with the retail industry, preferably the home improvement sector
