Lowe's Director BDC Operations in Mooresville, North Carolina

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide regional leadership over all operational aspects of Appliance/Bulk Distribution Centers (ADC/BDC). This position is responsible for leading the operations of all facilities within the assigned region's BDC network, including Lowe's operated and third party logistics (3PL) operated, in achieving high levels of efficiency, safety, and customer service related to the distribution of bulk product. This position oversees a team of Operations Development Managers, Field Leaders, SSC Associates, and 3PL providers that are responsible for Distribution of Bulk product to Stores, XDTs and Direct to Customers. Under the leadership of the Vice President, Supply Chain Distribution Center Operations, this team develops and executes operational strategy within each BDC facility to support company objectives related to sales, operating expense, and customer satisfaction. This position is also responsible for leading positive relationships with third party providers, Store Operations, Supply Chain, Loss Prevention, Store Support Center and other stakeholders. To accomplish this, the incumbent must have a wide knowledge of business, commercial, and operational processes and strategy related to Supply Chain, Store Operations, Customer Service, Information Technology and Continuous Improvement techniques. This position must also be proficient in people development and be experienced in "Leading Leaders" toward maximum potential. This role participates in strategic decisions related to Bulk distribution and works closely with cross-functional partners to design future state improvements.

Essential Functions:

•Oversees all aspects of operational leadership, physical product flows and cost management of all BDCs locations within their assigned region

•Collaborate and support Strategic Sourcing in establishing, maintaining, and improving commercial relationships of third party providers. Ability to review supply agreements and statements of work to create win/wins for both Lowes and the partner, and hold both teams accountable to rigorous adherence to the agreements

•Continually identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness through improved systems capability, process improvement, product flow methods, and applied technology; performs benchmarking of Lowe’s DCs to identify strengths and weaknesses, and to identify required improvement projects

•Accountable for financial performance of national BDC operations within assigned targets; approves forecasts, plans budgets, and monitors financial performance, making operational adjustments as needed to achieve results; provides financial leadership and coaching to direct reports

•Advises cross-functional leadership and peers on topics related to customer home delivery operations by leveraging deep subject matter expertise in industry best practices and future state capabilities; represents Bulk Distribution Operations in all cross-functional discussions and capability planning

•Builds alliances with stakeholders within Third Party Providers, Store Operations, Loss Prevention, Distribution, Inventory Planning, and Fleet Delivery in order to work out improvements in customer service, safety, and productivity

•Hires, trains and develops the talent necessary to achieve stated business goals

•Demonstrates continuous learning and maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning resource plans with business objectives; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; motivating teams; preparing individuals for growth opportunities and advancement; staying current with industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices; providing guidance when difficult decisions need to be made

Minimum Requirements:

•Bachelor's Degree - Engineering/Supply Chain preferred

•5-7 years business leadership experience in Supply Chain, Distribution, Store Operations or related field

•5-7 years Leadership experience with direct report responsibility

•5-7 years Supply Chain/Distribution experience

Preferences:

•Master's Degree - Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field

•Past consulting experience a plus

•Operations leadership experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Delivery

•Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)-APIC

•Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or related Supply Chain certification
