Your Impact

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a strategic counsel within the legal department, focusing on product counseling, technology transactions and AI-related legal matters. You will work closely with product teams, legal colleagues, and external partners to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations while supporting the innovative use of technology and AI in our products and services. Major responsibilities include product counseling, negotiating technology agreements, providing guidance on AI-related legal issues, and ensuring alignment with corporate legal and compliance standards.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with product teams to understand technology initiatives and advise on legal implications, risks, and compliance related to software development, licensing, and deployment of AI technologies and other products.

  • Draft and negotiate technology-related contracts, including software licenses, SaaS agreements, and professional service agreements.

  • Provide legal guidance on issues related to AI and technology projects, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape impacting technology and AI, and proactively communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging AI technologies, including intellectual property considerations, ethical implications, and compliance frameworks.

  • Develop and implement training and resources for Lowe’s technology teams on legal best practices related to technology initiatives and AI use.

  • Work cross-functionally with compliance, technology, and product management teams to integrate legal requirements into product development and deployment processes.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of legal policies and procedures related to technology and AI to ensure compliance with corporate standards and best practices.

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to legal issues in support of strategic technology business initiatives, including internal software development.

  • Advise on risk management strategies for technology and AI projects, identifying potential legal issues and recommending mitigation measures.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 Years Relevant experience in a top tier law firm or mixture of relevant experience in top-tier law firm, corporate legal department setting, and/or government agency

  • Active state bar member in good standing of at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • 1 Year Direct experience with public company legal issues, processes and procedures

  • Career track of progressive, documented accomplishments with broad diversity of experiences

  • Knowledge and exposure to legal issues encountered by a multi-national retailer
