What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of the Enterprise Security and Risk Services team, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment where you’ll make a meaningful difference in our clients’ lives. As a Consultant, Corporate Security, you’ll support the overall mandate of the Corporate Security group by providing expert support to the Senior Manager who manages the Crime Prevention and Robbery Program areas, which includes Incident Response. You’ll be responsible, as part of a team of security subject matter experts, supporting the management and execution of these programs to ensure that people, information and property are adequately protected across CIBC and that criminal threats are mitigated to the extent possible.

How You’ll Succeed
Relationship building – Develop and manage relationships with management and business leaders.Regular liaison with National Policing Agencies and partner Financial Institutions relative to Robbery activity and investigations.Regular liaison between Corporate Services, Corporate Sourcing, BJCC, IBCS and other internal partners, to determine the nature and extent of incoming physical security equipment and other requests for Corporate Security review and recommendation.Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Core Team, under the Bank’s Business Continuity Plan, to provide expert support and guidance in the event of a major emergency or disaster event.
Business acumen – Support the provision of tactical advice and guidance to management and client groups related to security concerns and support the implementation Physical Security Standards owned by Corporate Security, ensuring Standards are reviewed periodically and reflect practical, effective security approaches to mitigate identified risk. Provide expert advice/consultation to senior management on designing, implementing and maintaining controls to protect assets, information and people.
Critical thinking – Investigate and provide specialized advice/consultation to incidents relating to VIWP (Violence in the Work Place).Respond to Bank Robbery Incidents and provide on-site support to branch staff.Research and analyze industry information to assist in benchmarking and trending to support new initiatives and revisions of existing programs and procedures.Tracks industry incidents and analyzes information to ensure pro-active response.Support the preparation of investigative reports to senior and executive management.Ensure a high standard of investigation service delivery.Ability to understand and analyze business processes and problems of medium complexity, draw actionable conclusions, and make sound recommendations.
Development and maintenance - Guiding the development and maintenance of specific Crime Prevention and Robbery Programs, including Robbery and Incident Response, a Risk-based approach to the physical security of CIBC’s Branch and Office environments, Branch Robbery Prevention, Crisis Management.Develop and maintain up to date training for employees regarding Robbery and VIWP situations.

You have a designation in the field of security, and/or post-secondary education, and/or demonstrated 2-5 years equivalent experience. It’s an asset if you have a designation in Physical Security Professional (PSP).
You are in possession of a valid, full driving license.
