At Deloitte, our ESG Reporting Advisory Team combines its deep technical expertise in corporate reporting with clients’ sustainability reporting needs. The ESG Reporting Advisory team provides advisory and assurance services for clients throughout their ESG reporting journey. This includes supporting our clients navigating the impact of ESG factors on their financial and regulatory reporting, creating and disseminating strategic stakeholder communications related to ESG, and delivering assurance around ESG measures and disclosures. Our team works with clients to ensure that ESG is embedded at the core of an organization’s purpose and takes a holistic approach centered on integrated thinking.

Our team includes specialists who bring industry-specific sustainability perspectives with a focus on complex accounting, regulatory requirements, investor relations and overall communications in corporate reporting.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Senior consultant, you will:

• Gather, analyze and synthesize information regarding developments in sustainability to our clients and our practice

• Support the delivery of projects for clients with a focus on: Sustainability strategy development, reporting, and implementation

o Quantification and assessment of ESG impacts including climate change (ex: GHG emissions, physical & transition climate change, decarbonization opportunities, target-setting)

o Development of climate disclosures, including climate risks and opportunities

o Performing research, stakeholder engagement, and analysis as part of ESG risk and opportunity analyses

o Preparing and delivering training on ESG reporting developments and their implications

o Performing assessments on sustainability reporting programs including benchmarking and maturity

o Performing sustainability-related assurance procedures such as evaluating and testing ESG data and processes and related controls

• Assistance in developing appropriate disclosures in accordance with approved ESG reporting standards and frameworks

• Evaluating (qualitatively and quantitatively) the sustainability risks and opportunities and how to integrate these into enterprise risk management

• Qualitative and quantitative research using ESG data

• Participate in client meetings and assist in preparation of deliverables and reports

• Support business development and identify opportunities for value creation based on deep understanding of client challenges and an independent point of view

• Build client relationships and provide industry insight and experience in the domain of ESG

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

As a Senior Consultant, you must have:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or business, or undergraduate degree in sustainability management, climate policy, public policy or a related-environmental, social or engineering disciplines.

  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience from a consulting firm, NGO or corporate role driving ESG-related initiatives within financial services including ESG Integration, Sustainable Finance, impact or responsible investing, ESG due diligence and risk management across the investment lifecycle

  • Strong audit or advisory technical skills (GAAP, securities/regulatory perspectives)

  • Familiarity with ESG-related standards and frameworks including ISSB, GRI, SASB and TCFD is preferred but not necessary

  • Familiarity with ESG ratings (e.g. MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS) is preferred but not necessary

  • Strong data analytics and visualization skills, comfortable working with large datasets, both in Excel and beyond

  • Strong data analytics skills to apply to sustainability / ESG problem solving

  • Creative mindset with a strong interest in environmental and social impact

  • Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities

  • Experienced with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership

  • Strong management and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $62,000 - $106,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
