POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Analyst is accountable for supporting the execution and maintenance of the Bank’s Stress Testing exercises and Model Risk Management activities. For Stress Testing, it involves providing support in the estimation of the likely impact of economic and financial scenarios on P&L, RWA, and Capital resources - both for enterprise-wide stress tests and ad-hoc stress tests directed toward specific portfolios of interest. For Model Risk Management, it involves supporting the model risk governance process, the model identification process, and model inventory management.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Stress Testing

  • Support in conducting stress tests, including scenario design, implementation, results consolidation, and reporting.

  • Aid in the analysis related to earnings, balance sheet, capital, and liquidity, as well as associated risk exposures.

  • Provide support in oversight, review, and challenge on capital and stress testing matters.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of stress testing models and methodologies.

  • Identify emerging risks and trends which may impact the Canadian economy and/or the Bank to inform decision-making.

  • Research existing or emerging requirements & related best practices to assist and develop recommendations for changes/enhancements.

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and consult with relevant stakeholders for assigned elements of the stress testing program.

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of related risk management requirements and legislative/regulatory directives and guidance.

  • Provide support for the overall evolution and expansion of the Bank’s stress testing programs.

Model Risk Management

  • Maintain and ensure completeness of Model Inventory.

  • Ensure timely scheduling and management of Model Validations.

  • Monitor and report on the resolution progress of Model Validation observations.

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly reporting to the Model Risk Committee.

  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to understand all aspects of the workflow processes managed for model validation, model performance monitoring, and model issue management.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes to enhance the bank’s model risk management framework.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience within the Canadian financial services sector, or in Stress Testing and/or Model Risk Management.

  • Knowledge of Canadian Banking processes, organizations and/or OSFI Guidelines.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including cross-functional collaboration ability.

  • Ability to produce and communicate polished and crisp reports, analyses, and presentations.

  • Excellent judgement and creative problem-solving, including negotiation and conflict resolution.

  • Strong analytical qualitative and quantitative skills (MS Excel).

  • Ability to work under pressure, to manage multiple priorities, and to meet tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication (French and English).
