POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Advertising Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Media and Advertising team by developing reports, building audiences, conducting analyses and ensuring proper set up of tracking and AdTech for continuous delivery. They will play a key role to deliver on BDC’s growth ambitions, brand building and impact on Canadian entrepreneurs.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Collaborates with ad campaign specialists to define data-driven strategies that support digital campaigns optimization.

  • Translates complex data insights into clear and compelling data visualizations to enable decision-making.

  • Builds and maintains advertising related reporting.

  • Performs analyses and provides actionable insights to improve advertising performance.

  • Builds audiences in BigQuery for media activation.

  • Contributes to overview proper campaign tracking across BDC’s digital applications and digital advertising platforms.

  • Ensures that AdTech measurement, reporting and audience activation systems remain operational at all times.

  • Builds and maintains the related data sets and ensures their integrity.

  • Leverages SQL to clean, transform, and prepare data for different analytics and operational purposes.

  • Collaborates with a cross-functional team to understand acquisition goals and targeting tactics for paid channel activation.

  • Collaborates with the Clients Analytics team and the Business Intelligence department to develop and maintain automated data pipelines for seamless data flow.

  • Stays at the forefront of advertising data best practices and digital advertising trends.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, with a strong focus on data modeling for digital advertising purposes.

  • Digital media agency experience (an asset).

  • Experience or knowledge of the financial industry, entrepreneurship domain or B2B sector (an asset).

  • Strong understanding of digital advertising platforms (including Google Marketing Platform) and campaign metrics.

  • Experience working with tag management technologies such as Google Tag Manager or Tealium.

  • Expertise in data modelling tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) with a focus on building scalable and maintainable models for campaign optimization.

  • Preferred experience working with Google BigQuery for data warehousing and scalable analytics, advertising data cleanrooms such as Google ADH, and a good understanding of Privacy restrictions.

  • Strong expertise in data visualization and reporting using tools such as PowerBI, and Looker Studio.

  • A keen eye for data quality and a meticulous approach to data cleaning and preparation. Good judgment and attention to detail.

  • A systemic and architecture-oriented mind.

  • Proactive, independent, results-oriented person with problem-solving skills and team player.

  • Proficient in project management with adequate time and priority management skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills to work effectively with partners, business units and stakeholders to achieve common goals.

  • Bilingualism (French and English).
