POSITION OVERVIEW

BDC is looking for a candidate with a background in cloud technology to join our team and be part of an exciting transformation.

The implementation of new technologies, including hyperconverged infrastructure and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, and GCP) is required to accelerate innovation and time-to-market by driving IT workload resilience, agility, and consolidation.

The Practice Lead, Cloud Infrasrtructure acts as a technology leader and specialist related to AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud infrastructure technologies. He or she provides technical infrastructure guidance necessary for the development of new infrastructure technologies and system requirements for the cloud infrastructure technologies. Working hand-in-hand with architects and technology specialists, the Cloud Practice Lead leads scrums and ensures architectural plans are aligned with infrastructure capability and vision, providing detailed design documents and operational best practices. He or she oversees the solution creation process and operational standards from a technical perspective and provides complex troubleshooting capabilities. He or she has skills that make him or her an expert in cloud infrastructure, providing technical coaching and mentorship to technology specialists.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Oversight of Day-to-Day Operations: including monitoring cloud systems, managing incident response, and ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

  • Leadership of Cloud Ops Squad: Leading a team responsible for the operational health of cloud infrastructures, including scaling, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.

  • Collaboration and Coordination: Working closely with other leads and teams to ensure that the cloud infrastructure supports the needs of the business effectively.

  • Project Management: Overseeing projects related to the deployment of cloud solutions, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitating communication across different teams, including development, operations, and external stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the cloud computing field;

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of infrastructure as code;

  • Azure, AWS, and GCP experience;

  • Experience with Terraform and Azure DevOps deployment pipelines;

  • VMWare experience in a Cloud environment (VCF and VMC);

  • Experience in automation with PowerShell, Ansible/NetApp Playbook Scripting;

  • Experience in security enhancement;

  • vRealize Suite Experience – VIDM, vROps, vRLI, vRA. VCF;

  • Experience in backup and storage technologies;

  • Experience in networking;

  • Professionalism and concern for a job well done;

  • Analytical, structured and rigorous reasoning;

  • Team spirit, efficiency and adaptability

  • Ability to communicate consistently with a variety of stakeholders;

  • Resourceful, autonomous, self-taught and dynamic;

  • Ability to draft documents in a clear and structured manner;

  • Ability to solve problems in innovative ways and in emergency situations;

  • English and French, spoken and written.
