POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager, Marketing Communications and Sponsorships, is responsible for planning and execution of integrated sponsorship and event marketing strategies to support BDCs business objectives. Working in a matrix environment, the Manager oversees a seasoned multi-disciplinary team that liaises between Marcom experts, BDC partners and operations teams to foster alignment and maximize the impact of our partnerships and sponsorships initiatives. The incumbent develops national sponsorship plans, including defining activation approaches to leverage BDC's marketing and communications programs, while defining scalable and event experience solutions to support strategic priorities and deliver expected results. In this role, the person will be responsible for promoting our brand, helping to generate demand for our products and services, encouraging entrepreneurs to trust BDC and develop a positive predisposition when considering our services.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Lead the development and planning of national marketing communications and sponsorship programs that will increase corporate awareness and visibility and advise business lines on which strategic sponsorships to prioritize.

  • Promote a strategic vision for all types of sponsorship/partnership and event activations, including maintaining world-class quality and service standards in all assigned projects.

  • Provide strategic advice to senior executives in all areas of the Bank's activities, depending on the projects on which we are called upon to collaborate (product/service launches, activities, and public speaking engagements).

  • Oversee the negotiation of high-impact sponsorship programs and propose mutually beneficial and measurable terms of collaboration.

  • Lead, motivate and develop a committed team of professionals to achieve superior results.

  • Work closely with the corporate communications team to position the right BDC speakers at events as part of broader marketing and communications strategies.

  • Optimize the full marketing cycle and work closely with Marcom experts and business lines to implement effective and efficient marketing campaign activation strategies.

  • Support and lead the development and execution of major events and marketing communications campaigns to maximize impact and customer experience.

  • Identify and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success and alignment of events and sponsorship/partnership initiatives, including increased visibility, familiarity, engagement, and trust. Implement corrective measures as required.

  • Share information and market observations with business lines to contribute to the development of new national marketing and communications initiatives and tools.

  • Ensure BDC employees are well informed of sponsorship/partnership events and initiatives to ensure a coordinated and unified approach that maximizes our impact.

  • Apply processes and standards that promote efficiency, high quality, and alignment with BDC brand in a perspective of continuous improvement and excellence.

  • Manage financial resources related to team activities and ensure compliance.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field.

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in marketing/communications, PR/sponsorship with at least five years in B2B (corporate sector).

  • Solid experience in managing national sponsorship/partnerships programs and event marketing.

  • Strategic insights to transform business objectives and challenges into marketing or communication plans.

  • Demonstrated team spirit that contributes to positive, productive, and harmonious working relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience in a complex, matrix-based environment where agility and innovation are at the heart of your concerns.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong business relationships, excellent judgment, and proven ability to solve complex problems.

  • Proven ability to lead with influence, develop talent and maximize team performance.

  • Excellent judgment, strong ability to quickly gain credibility with stakeholders to foster mutually beneficial relationships.

  • Experience working with all elements of marketing, including events, sponsorships, partnerships, digital and social media is an asset.

  • Experience in the finance or consulting sector is an asset.

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) and proven oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong ability to analyze market and performance data, generate adequate insights, and identify initiatives to optimize results.

  • Experience in operationalizing a technology-based sponsorship management solution.
