Key Responsibilities
Writing news articles and briefs, managing pages, metadata, and multimedia elements across all digital platforms
Covering events for digital platforms, conducting interviews, and writing articles
Showcasing the best available content in a digital format tailored to the brand's audience
Monitoring social media and identifying emerging stories
Proposing and developing original coverage topics; ability to handle breaking news
Supporting colleagues by helping them successfully adapt their content for digital platforms, suggesting the best approaches
Following editorial standards and guidelines regarding accuracy, ethics, and legal issues
Other assigned tasks
Critical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in digital journalism
Proven experience in news reporting and the ability to produce content under tight deadlines
Strong writing skills, storytelling ability, and knowledge of local, national, and international news
In-depth knowledge of social media, its "codes," and best practices
Understanding of digital performance data and the ability to draw useful conclusions
Professional, results-oriented approach
Proven organizational skills and ability to work independently within tight deadlines
Good editorial judgment, demonstrated ability to produce original reports
Knowledge of video editing an asset
In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
