Canadian Tire Chapter Manager, Business Systems Analyst in Mobile Location Ontario [F009], Canada

What you’ll do

The Business Systems Analyst Chapter Manager position is responsible for overseeing and leading a team of Business Analysts across multiple product lines. This individual will partner with business stakeholders (internal and external) and ensure delivery of the firm’s highest priorities.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-pace agile environment and has prior experience leading other associates. This role is an integral part of the agile Program Team, partnering with technology leads and the Scrum Master discipline to ensure maximum efficiency and overall product delivery.

  • Responsible for overall management of up to 15 Business Analysts; oversight of interactions with stakeholders, scrum teams, and other key contributors as well as responsibility of collaborating with other chapter leads to manage and optimize the resource allocation to execute on the product roadmap.

  • Partners with key business stakeholders from various channels to ensure knowledge of requests and relative priority.

  • Holds the business analysts accountable for ensuring tight alignment and support of the product ownership responsibilities for their assigned scrum team.

  • Participates in overall agile organizational assessment and advocates for alignment between business units.

  • Partners with Scrum Master and Product Owner discipline and other Chapter Leads to develop the appropriate training program for business analysts to support culture of continuous learning and to ensure continued agile maturity.

  • Participates in the overall “inspect and adapt” philosophy across all ceremonies and interactions.

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned.

  • Motivate, provide direction, support and mentoring to the chapter and assist team members.

  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed by associates.

  • Screen candidates for potential employment and make final hiring decisions and or recommendations for the department.

  • Use decision making skills to work through difficult situations in conjunction with partners and other functional units across the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with all company and industry policies and regulations.

  • Write and deliver performance evaluations to each chapter member.

  • Provide management of staff in a matrix environment.

  • Create a chapter culture that empowers crew members to be strong contributors on autonomous Agile teams.

  • Develop crew members to build techno-functional expertise through focused and relevant coaching.

  • Establish and implement a chapter vision, strategy, and goals.

  • Understand the key strategic initiatives of Canadian Tire and align the team with to set appropriate priorities and directions.

What you bring

  • Proven ability to manage a team along with experience working with third party vendors.

  • Ability to prioritize work for the greatest impact through effective decision-making skills with a growth mindset.

  • Ability to differentiate between the myriad of agile framework that exists, and experience is applying various elements based on fit-for-purpose solutions during the delivery.

  • Good understanding of anticipating the long-term impact of all decisions and take a broad approach to problem solving.

  • Able to mentor and coach team members and lead the chapter collaboratively.

  • Great knowledge of agile, lean, and continuous improvement principles and tools.

  • Ability to identify and respond appropriately understanding various teams and stakeholders involved in decision making and recommend solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relations with peers, direct reports, stakeholders.

  • Nice to-have IIBA, CSM certifications.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
