This position reports to the Director of Distribution.
Responsibilities
Ensure team members are properly trained and retrained according to training guides and procedures
Develop team members through coaching, goal-setting conducting performance reviews; assist supervisors with mentorship activities
Initiate and implement programs and procedures required to ensure DC safety and cleanliness in all zones
Initiate and manage controls with regards to process flow in the Inbound Department; analyze inbound volumes to maximize efficiency
Ensure all equipment is in good order and ensure team members perform pre-shift checks
Maintain labour budget and cost per unit; plan and schedule labour on a daily basis and assist in the annual labour budget process
Manage the receiving schedule including planning for seasonal changes \
Prepare reports, analyze data and make recommendations for improving Inbound Reporting
Promote employee involvement in employee relations and safety committees
Train and develop supervisors, identifying and mentoring high-potential candidates
Ensure all loads are picked and shipped accurately and damage-free within set time schedules
Conduct reviews for accuracy with the inventory team
Ensure compliance with all Brick Group policies and procedures
Achieve departmental goals through effective staff management
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; post secondary education an asset
Minimum 4 years management experience in a diverse warehouse environment, preferably retail;
Significant experience using a large Warehouse Management System (WMS) in an inventory controlled environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Working knowledge of materials handling equipment and safe material handling techniques
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Self motivated, high energy and a strong work ethic
Superior planning and organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritize
