Employer & Individual (E&I) is seeking a Senior Sales Incentive Leader to join our team. The Senior Sales Incentive Director leads the design of performance based, market competitive plans that enable growth by rewarding and motivating behaviors across multiple business lines of E&I. Additionally, the Senior Sales Incentive Leader is accountable for all internal administration associated with plan design implementation and documentation and overall is accountable for managing plan performance leveraging a suite of analytics and plan budget. This role works with multiple internal teams, including finance, sales leadership, people team, and more. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sales processes, sales incentive structures, and compensation plans, as well as a proven track record of driving sales performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Annually develop and implement approved sales incentive programs that align with our sales strategy and objectives individualized across multiple business lines

  • Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify areas of opportunity and improvement for each business line

  • Collaborate with sales and people, and finance teams to design compensation plans that reward sales reps across multiple business lines based on performance level

  • Collaborate with finance to obtain line of business monthly budgets and monthly reporting to budget for gross sales, persistency, and gross margin financial metrics included in most manager level plans

  • Update Plan Policies document and review with legal for any law or rule changes that impact sales incentive payments

  • Develop change management and communication plans to communicate goals, sales incentives, and compensation plans to the sales teams across multiple business lines and ensure they understand the criteria for earning incentive payments

  • Monitor and track sales performance against targets for each business line and adjust future sales incentive programs as needed

  • Working in partnership with legal and regulatory, track required state licenses and appointment to UHC as mandated by states’ Departments of Insurance

  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on sales incentive performance and effectiveness across multiple business lines

  • Lead and develop a team of sales incentive professionals, providing guidance and coaching to drive individual and team performance

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices related to sales incentives and compensation plan

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in sales incentive design and management in a highly matrixed environment

  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing a team of direct reports

  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with and presenting to c-suite level management

  • Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience with Salesforce or other sales performance tracking software

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $147,300 to $282,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
