This position is responsible for managing the Service Organization Control (SOC) business control inventory and coordination of SOC report exams for one or more business segments within the company. Responsible for identifying and scoping key controls for the SOC reports, preparing the business for the SOC report exam, coordination of the SOC report exam with control owners and the external auditor and identifying process improvements that drive operational efficiency, quality and financial performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop working relationships with process and executive owners to understand the business and relevant key controls, educate owners on SOC exam requirements and provide guidance to enhance the control environment

  • Coordinate and facilitate SOC report exam meetings and requests between the business and external auditors

  • Create and/or maintain SOC report system descriptions and process flow documentation that reflect the control environment, data flow and key controls

  • Perform a quality review of evidence submitted by the business to determine whether the evidence submitted meets the intent of the request

  • Communicate status and results of SOC report exam testing with senior management and external auditors

  • Assist with any required control deficiency evaluation and remediation planning

  • Champion and cultivate internal control culture within the business

  • Lead / participate on special projects undertaken by the department and/or the Company, including pre-assessments for known new SOC report scope

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance; Accounting; or equivalent degree

  • 4+ years of relevant business experience including internal audit or public accounting experience

  • Solid understanding of business risks, controls, and their practical application

  • Experience with SOC report exam testing and/or coordination

  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health insurance or related insurance experience

  • Relevant assurance certification (e.g., CPA, CFE, CIA or CISA)
