This position will serve as a key member of the UnitedHealthcare Internal Communications team and will contribute to several communication vehicles and projects to support the team. In this role, this person will work with various tools and platforms to ensure the high-quality production of communications and events that will engage employees in the mission, vision and strategy of UnitedHealthcare. This person will be part “tools team” that supports the internal communications function across all UnitedHealthcare lines of business. This person will report to the Senior Director of Internal Communications.

If you reside near Minnetonka, MN, you will enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid-remote role as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Draft content, create tiles and post intranet articles for clients

  • Draft content, coordinate materials and schedule meetings for UHC all-employee meetings

  • Research, interview, write content and coordinate logistics for collateral that tell the UnitedHealthcare story (i.e., Everyday LifeChanger campaign)

  • Draft content for messages, including ghostwriting for executive as required

  • Send mass communications to UnitedHealthcare employees based on Internal Communications team direction

  • Support leader meetings with webcast support as needed

  • Support the Internal Communications team as needed with research, event planning and execution

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of communications experience

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft programs (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)

  • 3+ years of experience in a position that requires the need adapt quickly to new technologies

  • 3+ years in a self-driven role with the need to be resourceful

  • 3+ years of experience in creative thinking, showing ability to understand the relationships and interconnections among projects, and logistics management as crucial success factors

  • 1+ years of corporate communications, public relations, or journalism experience

  • 3+ years of experience navigating across a complex organization to find information

  • 1+ years of experience displaying strong writing and editing skills with a proficiency in Associated Press style

  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, English or Journalism

  • Experience with Adobe Master Collection programs (e.g., Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Audition)

  • Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and others

  • Experience in the health care industry
