UnitedHealth Group Associate Director - Health Transformation and Innovation - Hybrid in Minnetonka, Minnesota

This role will be responsible for helping execute enterprise strategies to advance a culture of health and well-being. This role will lead the strategy and implementation of an expanded well-being framework to encompass holistic well-being. They will develop strategies and proposals for new well-being solutions or programs to align with the new holistic well-being framework and will be responsible for continuously monitoring, evaluating and innovating within the various workstreams.

If you are located in Minnesota, you will have the flexibility to telecommute*, as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges. Must be local to MN in order to Hybrid in the Minnetonka offices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with communications, leadership, and other key stakeholders, lead the implementation and project management for rebranding current well-being program

  • Work with internal or external agencies to develop key messages, website design, communications collateral, and launch plan for new well-being solution/platform

  • Develop program strategy and execution for nutrition, physical activity, social and financial well-being programs, including managing vendor relationships both internal and external

  • Lead a team of 1-3 direct or indirect reports

  • Coordinate and implement wellness projects and initiatives on time within budget and within scope

  • Wellness project management, including preparing reports for leaders regarding project status and performance

  • Create meaningful goals and metrics to measure program results to quantify impact and measure return on investment (ROI), as well as root cause analysis when programs are not performing as expected

  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business

  • Capture and communicate business requirements to key partners

  • Provide oversight of internal and external vendor relationships to ensure business goals are met

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work and continue to monitor and make changes to work as the project needs dictate

  • Proactively address implementation barriers related to project success.

  • Review communications, tools, marketing materials, etc. for each program

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience

  • 3+ years of experience in project management

  • 3+ years working in wellness/well-being, healthcare, benefit plan design, or other related areas

  • 3+ years of experience consulting, designing, or implementing well-being programs or benefits, including implementation and vendor management

  • 2+ years leading teams or individuals, either directly or indirectly

  • Experience collaborating with both internal and external vendors across a large, complex, global organization

  • Experience interacting with senior level business partners or executives

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.

  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years as a people leader or equivalent experience leading teams

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion

  • Advanced interpersonal, communication and collaborative team skills. Ability to effectively interact with and influence all levels of internal and external business partners

  • Ability to exercise prudent, independent judgment

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment

  • Ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively and handle multiple deadlines simultaneously

  • Ability to think strategically while also accomplishing project milestones and outcomes

  • Proven organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
