As a State Program Administrator Intermediate in the Special Education division, you will conduct analysis of and continually improve workflow and processes for major projects, including federally funded grants and projects through federal discretionary funds or state funds allocated to the Special Education Division. Duties will include:

  • Conduct continuing studies of divisional systems, methods, and processes, and recommends or installs new or revised work methods and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency;

  • Identify, interpret, apply and communicate applicable state policies to division staff and is charged with ensuring that financial transactions are conducted in the division by following state policies and laws;

  • Provide administrative and training support for the division's budget process; Plan, monitor and track unit and division budgets and produces budget reports for leadership and program staff for budgeting and evaluation purposes;

  • Oversee and coordinate in-state, out-of-state and third party reimbursed travel activities for division staff; Plan and prepare budgets, monitor travel costs to ensure that unnecessary overspending does not occur.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of experience with project management, systems analysis, budget/finance or a related field


A bachelor's or master's degree and 1 year of experience with project management, systems analysis, budget/finance or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

Experience coordinating projects

Experience evaluating program implementation and outcomes

Experience in special education or working with students with disabilities

Work experience improving access or equitable outcomes for people with disabilities

Experience in applying continuous improvement processes to improve functionality and efficiency
