Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

We are seeking aSenior Marketing Communications Specialistto join our Marketing team in our Minneapolis office. In this role, you will lead digital marketing initiatives and content strategies for a global audience. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned digital marketer and writer with a strong B2B background. We are looking for a data-centric expert to apply analytics to inform ongoing strategies. We also want an effective storyteller who can combine evocative graphics and compelling writing to drive strategy, pivot where needed, and apply cutting-edge digital marketing tactics. In this role, you will:

  • Work directly with the Firm’s Marketing Communications Director and other members of the Marketing & Business Development Group to support the development and execution of the Firm’s digital marketing strategy and day-to-day operations.

  • Apply the latest strategies, tactics, and tools in social media marketing and advertising for content creation, visualization, and data analysis.

  • Lead content strategy and implementation for the Firm’s social media channels, including employee advocacy, storytelling, boosted content, and engagement.

  • Lead management of blog creation and development.

  • Thoughtfully analyze social media analytics to meaningfully adjust content planning and delivery.

  • Write, edit, and produce communications content and press releases. Assist Marketing Communications Director with internal and external communications messaging as needed.

  • Work with the Media Services Team to create and distribute internal/external videos.

  • Plan and produce content for the Firm’s intranet home page.

  • Interact with Firm lawyers to develop deep knowledge of Firm practice and industry areas and clients.

  • Meet with departments across the Firm to identify content opportunities and support strategic marketing and business development goals.

  • Manage ad hoc special projects for the Firm as needed.

  • Supervise the Digital Marketing Communications Coordinator.

  • May perform other duties not listed above.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree with course work in Public Relations, Journalism, Communication, or Marketing.

  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing communications roles.

  • Advanced knowledge of the latest strategic uses of social media and digital marketing.

  • Experience and expertise with content development, social media strategy, analytics reporting, agency management, graphic design, and web management.

  • Experience with writing press releases.

  • Ability to work well and communicate with team members, Firm management, and lawyers at all levels.

  • Excellent written communication skills with experience writing and editing marketing materials.

  • Familiarity with content scheduling, video editing, and analytics tools.

  • Highly developed organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

  • Close attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.

  • Customer-service orientation.

Preferred:

  • Managerial and leadership experience, including the ability to develop and motivate business professionals, prioritize their workloads, and monitor productivity.

  • Experience with using Canva for social media graphics.

  • Experience with Sprout Social or similar content management tool.

  • Experience with developing employee advocacy program and resources for social media channels.
