Ameriprise Financial Senior Director - Sourcing & EAR Engagement in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Senior Director - Sourcing & EAR Engagement leads the support organization for EAR Recruiting Directors which includes Divisional Directors (DD's) and the Sourcing & Engagement Team. This role directly leads the firms' efforts to source qualified experienced advisor recruits and triage all external lead flow (Search Firm, Referral, Self-Source) via the Sourcing & Engagement Team. This role is also responsible for comprehensive and consistent Recruiting Director support, beginning at initial candidate engagement throughout the recruiting process - with a focus on Initial Engagement to Business Review - via the Divisional Director Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Divisional Directors that are primarily responsible for candidate progression from Initial Engagement to Business Review. Ensure this team is consistently leading weekly pipeline territory calls, effectively building and maintaining a personal pipeline of advisors that are progressing through the process and providing comprehensive and consistent support to their territory of Recruiting Directors. Provide direct coaching and leadership for the Senior Divisional Directors by providing day to day leadership, coaching, training, mentorship and goal setting.

  • Lead a team of Sourcing Specialists that are responsible for candidate sourcing and external lead flow triage. Ensure this team is consistently meeting lead generation goals by using multiple sourcing techniques - including cold calling, drip marketing, taking incoming calls, referrals and ESA. Leverage technology to monitor effectiveness of external lead triage efforts and provide direct coaching and strategic direction to improve effectiveness. Provide direct coaching to Sr. Sourcing Specialist by providing day to day leadership, coaching, training, mentorship and goal setting.

  • Demonstrate thought leadership by providing strategic direction to the DD Team, S&E Team and EAR Leadership. Leverage deep understanding of business metrics to focus on innovation, process improvements and enhanced support for RD Team. Build and upgrade reporting functions to easily monitor business results. Effectively develop and present business results to Ameriprise Executives and EAR Leadership.

  • Network and leverage business partners to maintain a comprehensive understanding of Ameriprise products, support and services to answer advisor questions throughout the process. Maintain current industry competitive intelligence, benchmarking and analysis. Have a deep understanding of the financial components of recruiting; including the CBA, Offer, Proforma, Impact Analyzer and Total Economic Package.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience required.

  • 5+ year’s experience managing a large volume recruiting effort, preferably within a retail market dominated financial services business.

  • Strong understanding of the financial advisor community.

  • Strong relationship, negotiation and collaboration skills.

  • Proven people leadership skills with both direct and indirect responsibility.

  • Must be able to establish credibility quickly and be an effective communicator.

  • Proven strategy, change management, and implementation skills.

  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and complexity.

  • Strong focus on goals, tracking, and closing efforts.

  • Support and drive diversity hiring efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the AWMBD field organization, business metrics, and key business drivers.

  • Series 7 preferred
