Ameriprise Financial Senior Compensation Data Reporting Analyst in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Ameriprise Financial has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compensation Analyst role. This position would be responsible for partnering with the Director of Compensation Operations and the internal Compensation Consultants to provide support on the development, analysis, and administration of compensation strategies and programs. This will include providing support for Senior Stakeholder meetings, assisting with development and providing recommendations related to Compensation metrics/analysis and systems (i.e. Workday, HR Soft, Payscale), supporting the compensation planning process, and management of comp programs in order to provide flexible yet consistent application of guiding principles across the corporate functions and business segments on a global basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the preparation of materials for Senior Stakeholder meetings. Perform research and analysis to help inform materials.

  • Perform complex analysis to identify opportunities and make recommendations for the development or modification of various compensation programs (broad-based incentives, sales compensation, long-term incentive awards, etc.). Summarize and present recommendations and solutions to Compensation leaders or HR Business Partners.

  • Lead the administration of activities related to any number of compensation programs including base salary, variable incentives, year-end processes, job codes/titles, market pricing database, etc. Responsible for owning specific programs and/or processes for the entire team.

  • Responsible for the submission of salary surveys and the analysis of results, including job matching to current positions within the company and development of pay structures.

  • Perform scheduled and ad hoc auditing of system and procedures for Compensation; conduct SOX testing and/or assertions, as required.

  • Assist with the Vendor Risk Assessment process.

  • Prepare regular compensation reporting and analysis as needed.

  • Mentor Junior Analyst.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent.

  • 3+ Years of demonstrable experience.

  • Strong compensation data analysis and data interpretation skills.

  • Proven attention to detail with highly sensitive information.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data to identify trends or patterns.

  • Ability to identify issues and develop potential solutions, using data to support recommendations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required to discuss issues and articulate program/policy interpretation to HR staff and business leaders.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships through delivery of credible work product.

  • Developing consulting skills and techniques.

  • Strong skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, HRMS systems, market database software, and query reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skill with presentation of information to large groups.
