Job Summary:

Thermo King is seeking an experienced Sales Application Engineer – Technical Specialist to join our team and support our Auxiliary Power Units (APU) business. This dual customer/product focused position serves as a technical liaison between OEMs and represents our customers during new product development programs. In this role you will be responsible for influencing technical specifications, implementation of new design configurations, and delivering high performance equipment and system solutions integrated with tractor and heavy equipment OEMs in a variety of applications. The OEM Sales Application Engineer is a growth-minded and a collaborative team player who partners with product management, marketing teams, and engineering teams as well as key customer stake holders to meet.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance on Thermo King’s APU product to influence technical direction within a project team to support tractor OEM and heavy equipment OEM integration activities

  • Makes decisions in areas of design, product selection, and integration that impact OEM performance, quality, and optimization

  • Determines improvements for application and install by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies or service applications in the customer environment and proposing changes in design of Thermo King’s APU or the OEM’s equipment for use case

  • Develops strong working relationship with OEM technical peer to serve as their primary liaison to deliver specialized technical product information, manage product specifications, and support complex installation issue resolutions

  • Applies technical expertise in the areas of product, application and market knowledge to support OEM product selection and equipment design

  • Product application support

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of customer-facing technical experience in manufacturing-related field with managing client relationships and developing technical solutions for clients

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred but not required

  • Experience in the industrial, manufacturing or transportation industry is highly desired but not required. Experience working with major transportation OEMs is a plus.

  • Superior presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills; able to present ideas to customers in a way that produces understanding and impact.

  • Outstanding influencing, interpersonal and networking skills

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of productivity, manage multiple competing priorities, and work effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, complex, collaborative, and team-oriented environment

  • Demonstrated track record of product problem solving, risk assessment and quality decision making

  • Ability to travel 35%

Base Pay Range: $110,000 – $130,000
