Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking an Information Security Specialist with mainframe identity and access management, compliance, and risk reduction experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. Develops and implements security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms and diverse systems environments. Participates in education and training. Supports end-users and ISS staff in good security practices and procedures on enterprise platforms and materials with sensitive information. Evaluates and recommends changes to security policies/procedures. Notifies IT operations groups of vulnerabilities within their systems, raises awareness of security alerts that could affect systems they manage, and provides recommendations on mitigating/removing them. Tests and implements data security-related infrastructure for team tools, security plans, products, and control techniques. Removes vulnerabilities with guidance. Identifies regulatory changes that will affect current security administration processes and information security policies, standards, and procedures. Recommends appropriate changes. Monitors security logs for violations and unusual events. Monitors threats to the security of the Bank's network, systems, or information. Analyzes and monitors security alerts and notifies other staff of issues or potential areas of concern. Receives guidance from senior staff. Participates, oversees, and executes identification, patching, and other remediation of system vulnerabilities. Provides access to systems/users based on approved requests while receiving guidance from senior staff as appropriate. Consults on general access issues.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days at one of the following locations:

  • Minneapolis, MN

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • At least three years of experience with RACF (Resource Access Control Facility)

Preferred Skills/Experience

-Experience with IBM mainframe systems and z/OS operating system and TSO navigation.

-Experience with scripting such as JCL, REXX and DB2 query.

-Knowledge of Vanguard or Z-secure security administration tools.

-Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

-Effective communication and collaboration abilities

-Information security technologies

-Information security architecture

-Information security audits

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $102,340.00 - $120,400.00 - $132,440.00
