Job Description

Partners with Senior to Executive Leaders in their assigned Line of Business, Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) Consultants, RCA Managers and other Senior RCA Managers to, depending on the function, oversee the successful creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective risk management framework. Accountable for projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Identifies gaps and drives solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors. Accountable for the active identification, response and/or escalation of risks as appropriate. Influences policies and procedures to maximize profit potential and minimize regulatory exposure. Accountable for an effective partnership between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense. Manages a team of RCA Professionals with responsibility for staffing, performance management, prioritizing, guidance and training.

Primary Responsibilities

-Lead and oversee the implementation and execution of the Funds' day-to-day compliance activities.

-Continually enhance and supervise the Funds' compliance programs. Identify and resolve compliance issues.

-Communicate and report on Fund compliance matters to the CCO, Management, and the Board.

-Manage, mentor and partner with the existing compliance team and support individuals' professional development.

-Serve as primary point of escalation to resolve Fund related issues.

-Oversee or perform Rule 38a-1 service provider testing and due diligence reviews with service providers.

-Oversee and review disclosure documents and ensure appropriate investment parameters and guideline monitoring controls are established and materials are reviewed appropriately.

-Oversee or prepare recurring and special Board reports.

-Oversee or prepare documents and reports and assist with the review of the annual 15c memorandum and accompanying materials.

-Manage regulatory inquiries and examinations.

-Review and assess new, prospective, and existing Fund products for compliance requirements.

-Maintain current knowledge of regulations and laws providing thought leadership and direction as to their implications to the Funds’ activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically more than 12 years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Considerable understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business

  • Considerable understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls

  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

  • Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people

  • Effective skills at managing stressful situations

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills

  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications

  • Applicable professional certifications

-High level of integrity and professionalism.

-Critical judgment in assessing potential compliance matters, the application of industry developments to the business and knowing when to seek independent advice and when to act independently.

-Strong leadership and influencing ability.

-Decisive and mature, with the ability to drive consensus.

-Ability to tailor compliance solutions to business conditions.

-Detail-oriented, organized, highly proficient individual capable to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, and able to solve complex problems in a collaborative manner.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $145,180.00 - $170,800.00 - $187,880.00
