Job Description

This position manages the activities of a team of investment accountants and takes ownership of all accounting functions for our fixed income portfolios. This position serves as the lead fixed income accounting liaison and is responsible for maintaining a calendar of deliverables, allocating tasks among available resources, and reviewing the quality of work produced. This position requires regular coordination with trading operations, client service teams, marketing staff, custodian banks and auditors.

Responsibilities:

  • Entrusted to perform responsibilities efficiently and thoroughly due to risk of reputational loss.

  • Assuring the existence of and adherence to operating procedures for all fixed income accounting functions.

  • Manages a team of investment accountants.

  • Oversees reconciliation of portfolios to custodian banks.

  • Data entry into accounting and reporting systems.

  • Performs data integrity and other quality control checks. Prevents recurring issues.

  • Assisting clients and client managers with inquiries.

  • Investment Performance calculation and administration, including benchmarks, composites and annual ACA verifications

  • Preparation of custom client reports.

  • Oversees fixed income client invoicing.

  • Oversees production of monthly client reports.

  • Safeguards the integrity of the portfolio accounting and performance databases.

  • Updating, testing and maintaining the department’s business continuation plan and documentation for fixed income accounting.

  • Assists in the selection and evaluation of employees

  • Assists in training and orientation of new accounting and other employees as needed

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in finance, investment management or investment consulting.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity

  • Complete understanding of investment performance measurement – GIPS standards

  • Solid quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Expert user of Excel and Access. Familiarity with VBA and SQL strongly preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments, both individual and team

  • Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from all organizational levels.

  • Detail oriented with a commitment to excellence.

  • Desire to improve processes, take initiative and solve problems.

  • Working knowledge of fixed income securities and related calculations such as amortization, income accrual, yield, duration

  • Experience with Enterprise-level investment oriented software and/or Bloomberg or Morningstar.

  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Demonstrates superior ethics and sound judgment at all times.

Hybrid/flexible schedule:

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $90,100.00 - $106,000.00 - $116,600.00
