Ready to launch your career? The Columbia Threadneedle Investments intern program is designed to provide students with first-hand investment management experience. The Columbia Threadneedle Financial Reporting team is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings for mutual funds and other products, which may include partnerships, 529 plans, collective trust funds and insurance company separate accounts. Financial statements and other regulatory filings are prepared in accordance with GAAP or GASB and subject to regulations under various governing bodies including the SEC and the CFTC. The financial reporting team oversees the financial statement production for over 200 mutual funds and other products throughout the year.

Financial Reporting Intern
Responsibilities vary depending on assigned projects(s) and may include:
Prepare annual, semi-annual, shareholder and portfolio reports; including footnotes, highlights, expense tables, trial balancing, cost roll forward schedule, portfolio turnover schedule, derivatives table and volume disclosures.
Reviews shareholder reports and reviews/checks financial/accounting data for accuracy.
Compile and transmit monthly, quarterly and annual information to mutual funds reporting agencies.
Prepare various internal reports and information summaries.
Participate in audit review sessions and follow through on issue resolution. Critical in audit confirmation process needed for external audit sign off prior to deadlines
Prepares reports that are filed with regulatory agencies such as the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission).
Current Junior at a 4-year university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Degree.
Graduation date of December 2023 or May/June 2024
