Ameriprise Financial Divisional Director, Experienced Advisor Recruiting in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Divisional Director is responsible for supporting the firms recruiting efforts by working closely with Recruiting Directors, Field Leaders and Corporate Business Partners. The role directly supports Recruiting Directors, assisting them in candidate progression from Initial Engagement through hire - with a specific focus on managing the advisor experience. Drives recruiting results individually by managing a pipeline of advisors that can be recruited virtually - partnering with field leaders on all three platforms to bring the candidate through the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Within specific division, partner closely with designated Regional Directors to achieve recruiting goals for AAG, AFG and AFIG. With a specific focus on candidate progression from Initial Engagement to Business Review - work with advisors to gather documents, hold value driver meetings (tech demo, marketing demo, etc.) and demonstrate increased conversion over time in this part of the pipeline. Provide Recruiting Directors with general sales support across the entire process including VIP Events, Proforma creation and Offer presentations.

  • Build and maintain a personal pipeline of candidates that can be recruited virtually in partnership with field leaders - including all <$250,000 GDC advisors in AFG AAG and AFIG roles. Conduct initial virtual meetings, lead Business Review Meetings and hold separate pipeline calls with field leaders to ensure candidates are progressing through the process; supplementing RD goal achievement across all three platforms. Travel into the field when necessary and prudent to support pipeline progression and to build trusted relationships in the field.

  • Lead weekly RD pipeline calls in AAG, AFG and AFIG. Ensure all relevant next steps are captured, maintain an organized pipeline in Salesforce CRM and hold Recruiting Directors and Field Leaders accountable to actionable next steps. Proactively engage the pipeline by taking next steps on behalf of the recruiting team and bring forward opportunities that may have gone cold. Communicate advisor recruiting statuses and results effectively to internal leaders and external search firms.

  • Network and leverage business partners to maintain a comprehensive understanding of Ameriprise products, support and services to answer advisor questions throughout the process. Maintain current industry competitive intelligence, benchmarking and analysis. Have a deep understanding of the financial components of recruiting; including the CBA, Offer, Proforma, Impact Analyzer and Total Economic Package.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.

  • 5 - 7 years relevant experience required.

  • Strong understand of recruiting in financial services industry.

  • Ability to implement change while driving results and accountability.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Demonstrated strong organization and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Outstanding relationship management, negotiation, and collaborating/influencing skills in working across field and internal/external partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess readiness and to coach and develop others.

  • Strong analytical skills and detail orientation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Support diversity hiring efforts.
