Job Description

Manages for one of the two contract services teams. Works across the organization to negotiate contracts, reduce risk and deliver results. Monitors and enhances team performance across all engagements. Coordinates multiple the Contract Services workflow and other individual projects. Identifies opportunities and develops new internal customer relationships. Provides advice to customers. Incorporates appropriate procurement processes and services to internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Includes direct management responsibility for a team of Contract Services function.

• Is a trusted advisor to the BL and the Contract Services team

• Works with senior leadership including Management Committee Executives

• Comfortable working with ambiguity and determining path forward.

• Considered an expert in processes, tools and procedures that affect the Contract Services function.

• Is an advocate for the team when working across the enterprise with 2nd line of defense functions.

• Leads negotiations, problem solves and brings forth solutions or ideas for the entire group.

• Responsibility and ownership of potential acquisition or amendment projects, including tracking, escalation and completion.

• Serves as the primary contact for specific business units, connects with and services, working with senior leadership and Procurement Sourcing Team Managers to negotiate, execute contracts and involve procurement professionals.

• Responsible for developing and maintenance of individual team staffing, including interviewing, hiring and onboarding.

• Is a mentor and developer of team members.

• Part of the quality review and audit processes.

• Primary Responsibility for the review and update of processes and procures, QA Actively and process optimization.

• Works with Risk and Compliance Subject Matter expert groups to ensure clear and concise language and guidance are included in working materials.

• Management experience of 2 years or more.

• Ability to manage the workflow and balance workloads appropriately to ensure efficiency, timeliness and development of teams members.

• Works with TPRM Partners to align on process functions, including Contract Lifecycle Management Optimization, includes ownership and coordination of technology updates to tools affecting the team, working with the tools owners to ensure updates affecting the team are reviewed, challenged and communicated

• Strong working relationship across the Law division and Compliance (RCS) groups.

• Initiates team training activities to ensure ongoing policy development and understanding.

• Works on company-wide initiatives and enterprise projects including critical, complex and high-dollar initiatives, involving offshoring, digital, agile, SaaS related agreements.

• Promotes a problem-solving collaborative environment across the team.

• Highly efficient in the managing the team and team workload. Still negotiating contracts but greater depth and focus on team administration, development and efficiency

• One on ones with team with larger team structures

• Evolution and enhancement of the working alignment with the Sourcing teams

• Works with Sr, Management on process and team optimization

Grows involvement as directed by senior management by successfully prospecting for new opportunities and retaining and expanding existing internal customer relationships. Monitors and enhances supplier performance in all assigned relationships. Responsible for leading teams including Procurement, Contract Analysts and Business Line representatives. Coordinates multiple business line participation on shared projects. Identifies opportunities and develops new internal customer relationships. Provides procurement advice to customers. Incorporates appropriate procurement processes and services to internal customers. Identifies and successfully capitalizes on interdepartmental contract leverage opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • 6 or more years of experience in procurement contract activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and contract negotiation and administration

  • Knowledge of Procurement leading practices

  • Strong relationship management and business development abilities

  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong sales and collaborative team building skills

  • Well-developed financial and market analysis skills and experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Well-developed management and leadership skills

  • Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and operations

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all levels across the company

  • JD Required

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $129,455.00 - $152,300.00 - $167,530.00
