Play a critical role in rallying 380,000 employees around our mission to help people live healthier lives and to help make the health system work better for everyone. The Communications Consultant will work on the UnitedHealth Group Internal and Employee Engagement team, responsible for design and graphic requests for internal stakeholders. The role will also support email distribution including creating and sending emails using HTML.

The position requires a highly motivated, self-sufficient individual who can effectively interact with a range of stakeholders and quickly develop an in-depth understanding of UnitedHealth Group’s brand, initiatives, priorities, programs and its role within the health care system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive conceptual development and establishment of visual design

  • Create communications materials in alignment with defined communications strategies and goals

  • Design and advocate for the use of clear, audience-friendly graphics in emails, presentations, web and more, following UnitedHealth Group Brand guidelines

  • Collaboration with UnitedHealth Group Marketing team to leverage approved brand templates

  • Execute email sends, including:

  • Designing and creating emails in HTML

  • Loading and managing distribution lists

  • Proofing emails, sending test preview emails and working with partners on edits and feedback before finalizing content

  • Sending emails and reporting results

  • Manage and exceed deadline expectations while staying keen to detail

  • Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them

  • Maintain high energy and enthusiasm in a collaborative and ever-changing environment

  • Maintain department best practices and related documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 4+ years of experience:

  • Creating materials and graphics in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Creating advanced presentations in PowerPoint

  • Developing and distributing emails in HTML email platform, including end-to-end management from design to coding to distribution

  • Creating content across multiple channels, with digital channels the focus

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, operating with discipline, urgency and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Salesforce Marketing Cloud/Content Studio

  • Health care experience

  • Expertise in building and executing initiatives in a corporate setting (or in consultation with corporations)

  • Knowledge and/or use of Associated Press Stylebook

  • Writing and editing skills

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
