Ameriprise Financial Business Operations Intern in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Our 10-week summer intern program provides real-life experience in a collaborative and inclusive environment. The Service, Operations, Trading, and Project Management and Implementation teams support a best-in-class advisor, client, and employee experience through business process analysis, developing innovative solutions, and achieving organizational goals. Our team works cross-functionally with many departments, inclusive of but not limited to our Bank, Technology, and Compliance departments. As a Business Operations intern, you will work with team members to support one or more of the following areas:

• Tool and Workflow Design

• Risk Management

• Client and Advisor Feedback Analysis

• Data Analytics

• Process Innovation

• Bank Operations

• Knowledge Management

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary depending on assigned projects(s) and may include:

  • Participating on project teams responsible for developing solutions to enhance the advisor, client, and employee experience.

  • Collaborate with leaders and colleagues across the world on innovative process improvements, solutions, and applications.

  • Gain familiarity with the tools used at Ameriprise to conduct day-to-day business and propose enhanced user experiences.

  • Understand business needs and infrastructure necessary to support advisors and clients.

  • Produce a project to be presented to Service & Operations leadership at the end of the internship.

Examples of past intern projects include:

  • Supporting the development of internal reporting capabilities

  • Building and reviewing content for internal website

  • Providing analysis on advisor-facing program, assessing its success and identifying opportunities for improvement

  • Reviewing existing assets and providing recommendations for internal learning pathways

Required Qualifications

  • Current Junior at a 4-year university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Liberal Arts, Business Analytics or related field

  • Graduation date of December 2025 or May/June 2026

  • Demonstrated leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High degree of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to influence and strong relationship management skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using data to identify trends and opportunities

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work and communicate collaboratively with others

  • Creative, strategic, and flexible skill sets

  • Ability to work independently

The company does not offer corporate undergraduate internships for students with F-1 visas.
