This role is supporting our Enterprise Imaging Team within OptumInsight.

The Business Development Manager- Data Partnerships is a full-time senior level role, reporting directly to the Sr. Director of AI and Data Strategy. In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic partnership opportunities for externally sourced data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development and partnerships and can work with various stakeholders, internal and external, while leading technical and business discussions with his peers and senior management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute long-term strategic goals for data partnerships

  • Lead negotiations and agreement discussions with external partners in coordination with a cross functional teams such as Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Sales, Finance, and Operations

  • Strategically target key markets and identify prospective clients based on latest market trends and inputs from various internal stakeholders

  • Responsible for developing collateral emphasizing the value of data partnership. Engaging and presenting to clients to explain research and other key facets of such an opportunity

  • Responsible for driving cross functional teams comprising of product, engineering, legal and compliance etc.

  • Maintain a direct and active relationship with your strategic partner while serving as an internal champion and escalation of all things related to them

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships management

  • Proven track record of successfully establishing and managing strategic partnerships

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with analytical skills to structure and negotiate highly complex deals and problem solve contractual and financial issues

  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate understanding of AI and data technologies such as NLP, machine learning, ontologies etc.

  • Experience in heavy customer-facing presentation and information discovery that supports the successful delivery to clients

  • Experience managing and acquiring new clients

  • Experience developing financial models for customers

  • Experience working with provider groups in the healthcare industry (i.e. hospitals, IDNs and health systems, clinics, etc.)

  • Solid interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills within a multicultural environment

  • Proven ability working with cross-functional teams in a large, matrix environment

  • Proven ability to develop and pitch presentations to leadership teams

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
