We are currently hiring a Business Cybersecurity Leader (BCL). This role will lead the program management and business engagement function as part of Trane Technologies’ Enterprise Information Technology Cybersecurity organization.

This role will be the primary point of contact for the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and will support the implementation of key initiatives/projects within the Cybersecurity program. The BCL will assist in improving the cybersecurity posture with respect to delivering services & partnering with the strategic business unit leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary local security contact/adviser for the IT leadership and the IT Business Partners

  • Develop and maintain in depth understanding of region/business unit processes, systems, data & technologies

  • Partner with local Compliance, Legal, IT resources to achieve effective working relationships

  • Implement the Cybersecurity Policies and Standards across the assigned region / business unit

  • Communicate, oversee and carryout technical implementations of security solutions required to meet business objectives

  • Engage with internal clients to assist the business to achieve its objectives while managing cybersecurity risk. The BCL will coordinate several cybersecurity activities, including:

  • Third Party Risk Assessments

  • Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing

  • Issue Tracking and Risk Management

  • Control Self Assessments

  • User Access Reviews

  • Compliance Initiatives

  • Provide regular and timely reporting on the status of cybersecurity across the region/business unit

  • Provide escalation path for security issues and inquiries

  • Work with Security Incident Response and Crisis Management teams to assist in effectively driving incidents to acceptable resolution; assist with remediation activities as needed

  • Provide cybersecurity guidance across IT and business functions; drive remediation activities

  • Support the development and maturation of cybersecurity transformational objectives for service delivery for the enterprise

  • Define and design cybersecurity controls to fit into business and environment needs

  • Develop and lead cybersecurity programs and projects

  • Manage security within project lifecycle, perform security validations and support project objectives


  • Bachelors degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline

  • 10+ years in Information Security, Compliance and Audit experience

  • Highly developed relationship management and partnership skills across business functions

  • Understanding of IT security technologies and techniques that cover IT infrastructure, application development and operations

  • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory landscape related to security and privacy

  • Preferred security certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)

  • Preferred experience in implementing IT/Information Security governance, policies and standards

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work effectively in a team environment

  • Strong judgment and analytical skills; strong communication & interpersonal skills; high attention to detail

  • Outstanding level of presentation and reporting skills

  • High initiative and ability to work independently

  • Experience helping lead and influence in a highly matrixed organization

This role has been designated as Virtual . Work can be done from anywhere. Shared touch-down workspace available on-site. ​
