Ryder System National Business Development Manager- Onsite in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The National Business Development Manager - Onsite will have the responsibility for developing new customer business or existing customer conversions within their assigned sales territory, specifically those that are on-site maintenance opportunities only. S/he will educate and develop the customer value perception of Ryder's services (Full Service Lease, Programmed Maintenance, Lease Financing, Dedicated Contract Carriage and Insurance) as it relates to the on-site product solution. This will be accomplished by developing sales plans, analyzing profitability of prospects and fully understanding the competitive influences and risks with each account. The incumbent will be responsible for developing profitable new customer business, meeting or exceeding assigned quotas for revenue and new accounts and successfully transitioning new customers to the account relationship team (CDM/DNA).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with course work in business and/or finance and accounting

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated consecutive sales excellence (quota achievement) in prior sales responsibilities

  • Effective in managing through systems and building effective teams

  • Strong financial acumen to create a win-win solution for Ryder and customer (specific to P&L and proforma review)

  • Strong drive for results

  • Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to develop clear insight into the needs of the customer and form effective relationships, both internally and externally

  • Proven success in understanding customers’ needs and requirements

  • Ability to:

  • Engage successfully in negotiation and maintain positive relationships through difficult problem resolution process

  • Express thoughts, concepts and ideas effectively, clearly and concisely while adapting communications to the understanding level of the audience

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and decision makers to build trust for long term relationships

  • Work effectively with internal departments to provide acceptable and effective resolutions to customer service problems in a timely manner

  • Good understanding of Ryder's product offerings

  • Knowledge of industry leaders, terms, policies, and on-site structures preferred

Responsibilities

Sales Activity

  • Develop pre-sales strategy for the target accounts

  • Develop a sales activity pipeline sufficient to meet and exceed required quota revenues

  • Respond pro-actively to leads furnished

  • Represent full spectrum of Ryder services

  • Work with DNAs and NCAs to transition accounts and increase sales opportunities, as required

  • Partner with National Sales to develop and/or assist in generating sales opportunities within assigned territory

  • Ensure new customer orientation completed

Account Planning

  • Identify prospect needs/requirements and value components through quality needs assessment and value-based proposal preparation

  • Develop account selling strategies on a continual basis to improve effectiveness

  • Contribute to an effective transition of accounts sold

  • Perform administrative functions necessary to support account

Communications

  • Report sales activity to management

  • Adhere to sales protocol and SFDC compliance activities

  • Create supportive working relationships with BU's

  • Leverage all resources to expand new opportunities

  • Develop account profile information on all prospect solicitations

Personal Development

  • Complete training and improvement of sales skills, industry knowledge and facilitate personal growth

  • Perform other duties as assigned
