CVS Health Health Coach Dietitian in Mesa, Arizona

Job Description

Open to candidates located in Phoenix, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, or Mesa, AZ. This is a full-time telework role that will require up to 25% travel to health hubs in Phoenix and surrounding areas. Working schedule: standard 40-hour work week, but will require nights. Standard schedule is 8am-4:30pm with 1-2 shifts per week working 11:30am-7:30pm. Possible weekend work required; weekend working schedule will be 10am-2pm, as needed. We are looking for a passionate and versatile Registered Dietitian to join our team and work directly with patients to improve health by preventing and managing diabetes through nutrition. The RD will work with a motivated cross-functional team including Providers, Nurse Practitioners, Product Designers, and Data Scientists to develop and implement innovative healthcare programs. This individual will work with patients using remote sessions and will have access to the latest digital tools to support patient success. If you thrive in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment, where integrity, patient care and safety is always the top priority, this role may be a great fit for you.Within this role, you will be responsible for using a collaborative process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to engage, educate, coach/promote members in decisions related to achieving and maintaining optimal nutrition status and management of their diabetes.You will motivate and engage members telephonically, and via live messaging over the course of multiple coaching sessions and provide them with personalized coaching and education to help them meet their goals and encourage positive behavior change.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: 45,500

Maximum: 98,000

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian (R.D.) in good standing with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics - 3+ years of experience working with patients who have Type 2 Diabetes- 3+ years of experience using digital tools to support patient success, including food trackers/menu and shopping plans- Willing and able to travel 25% to health hubs within Phoenix, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, and Mesa, AZ.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in motivational interviewing, active listening skills, Transtheoretical Model, mindfulness based and other evidence-based coaching techniques preferred.- Experience with electronic medical records and Epic- Experience working in a startup environment- Experience developing patient-facing content- Demonstrated ability to communicate, problem solve, and work effectively with people, use good judgment in challenging situations.


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, in the field of Nutrition or Dietetics preferred- Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field preferred
