Parsons is hiring a Telecom Engineer to lead the physical installation/commissioning/testing projects associate with RAN equipment in a field project environment. In this role, you'd provide on-site technical leadership and technical guidance to implementation field personnel for both internal and commercial projects. Act as first escalation point for complex troubleshooting / problem resolution tasks associated with RAN equipment. Position requires 95% travel, and the ability to work overtime and/or nights as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadsthe mechanical installation of RAN equipment and associated products including transmission equipment and DC power.
Provides leadership and training for Cable / Fiber fabrication, installation and testing.
Provides technical leadership/ supervision to include: clearance of audit items, creating/ generating change orders, on-site material inventory, MOPs generation and execution, equipment upgrades, redline modules/providing redlines, reporting and solving technical issues/ problems, and system disturbance reports.
Completes roll-up of daily reports, reports and tracks material discrepancies and maintains local or market level trackers / status reports.
Escalates project delays, customer concerns and/or complaints to Field Project Manager.
Mentors/teaches installation and testing to junior field personnel and managed subcontractors.
Directs field personnel in daily work.
Acquires customer sign-off of acceptance/punch list.
May participate in customer meetings for technical input.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience) required.
Typically 7+ years progressive telecommunications installation and testing experience or other technical area in a communications system company.
Advanced Datacom and IP experience preferred.
demonstrated leadership skills and advanced technical knowledge of telecom products.
Working knowledge and skills in use of computer systems, including troubleshooting of PC issues, as well as business process flow.
Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office products especially focused on MS Excel.
Ability to follow verbal and written work instruction / product documentation.
Ability to read cable color-codes as well as use hand and power tools.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs.
Ability to work in standing, sitting, kneeling positions.
Ability to climb ladders.
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
