If interested please follow special instructions on I Want To Apply Eastern Pike Community Center for Aging Adults Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday9:00-2:00 Open Senior Center: Prepare for arrival of meals from the provider facility: Turn Steam table on, Make coffee, Inspect counter tops, heating trays, utensils and miscellaneous equipment to ensure conditions meet sanitary standards. Organize service utensils for portioning out meals. 1. Maintain sanitary area's throughout kitchen and center. 2. Coordinate HDM's, both hot and frozen for distribution. Portion homebound meals according to standards set by the Dietitian. 3. Set up Congregate meals for people who are at the center daily in a timely manner 4. Portion out and/or set-aside accessories which are to be included with each meal: fruit, bread and butter, soup, juice, or milk, or ice cream andndash; and or any other desserts, serve, pack or store appropriately. 5. Ensure meals are maintained at the correct temperature for delivery and thermal bags are heated when necessary for safe transport. 6. Advise meal transporter of any special instructions regarding the meals being delivered. Review Sam's Route Sheets with volunteers and Meal Transporter for changes and additions. 7. Reports any shortages or problems with the food or delivery to the Food Service Director at the Provider Facility. For appropriate resolution. Coordinate any menu substitutions with the Dietitian for accurate nutrition compliance. 8. Take reservations by telephone for consumers requesting to come in on future dates. 9. Participate in planning and organizing some activities independently as well as communicating with Activities Coordinator regarding planned events such as, Bingo, birthday celebrations, picnics, holiday parties, day trips 10. Assist support staff and volunteers in setting up of coffee, beverages, snack, hot trays and setting of tables. 11. Wash hands often, or as required by the food safety and sanitation guidelines. 12. Responsible for food safety by support staff and volunteers. 13. Greet seniors and socialize while meals are being distributed andndash; observing any signs of impending problems. 14. Act as liaison between consumers to prevent disagreements or heated discussions. 15. Be aware of reporting requirements for Protective Services for older Americans Act to the Unit of AAA. 16. Refer consumers in need of assistance regarding personal matters, financial assistance, Nutritional problems, personal care attention, and medical issues to AAA intake. 17. Advise consumers of the availability of assistance with filing forms for PACE, tax rent rebate, heating assistance, etc. 18. Use Co-Pilot system for reports for meal service units and activities for the director to review and submit to the PA Department of Aging in Harrisburg. 19. When weather conditions require the nutrition center to close, after being notified by the director or site manager, notify support staff and volunteers. 20. At the end of each day assist the support staff and volunteers in the cleanup and sanitization of the equipment and tables after which see that everything is shut off and if required locked up. Perform other related duties and attend required meeting and training.
