The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a U.S. International Tax Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Lead the preparation/review of complex U.S. international calculations including components of GILTI, FDII, and BEAT for quarterly tax provisions and communicate with external auditors

  • Own the process for modeling the U.S. international impacts of special projects by partnering with other tax department and/or company personnel as needed

  • Review complex calculations for the U.S. return including components of GILTI, FDII, and BEAT including review of book/tax/E&P differences and forms such as 5471,8858,8990 series and respond to IRS audit requests concerning the calculations

  • Research and analyze existing and proposed legislation with respect to US international income tax issues as needed

  • Identify technology solutions, design and implement process improvements

  • Mentor, train, and develop a team of tax analysts and senior tax analysts

Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Four (4) years of experience in U.S. international income tax (including experience reviewing U.S. international income tax calculations and forms)

  • Five (5) years of experience in income tax in a public accounting firm and/or mid-size or larger corporate environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • CPA Certification

  • Master of Business Taxation

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and Macros

  • Proficient in use of Corptax software

  • Proficient in use of SAP

  • Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and presentation skills

Location: St Paul, MN or San Antonio, TX area preferred but fully remote candidates will receive equal consideration.

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
