The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Senior Facilities Mechanical Engineer – Combustible Dust Systems, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Provide design of mechanical systems including dust collection, industrial ventilation, HVAC, building automation, and process/utility piping for 3M facilities and processes.
Learn from a strong team of experienced Mechanical engineers.
Oversee design work by consultants for assigned projects.
Develop and manage project timelines and budgets for assigned projects.
Successfully interact with multiple discipline teams including 3M plant personnel, consultants, suppliers and vendors.
Communicate effectively to project team, facility staff and project owners.
Insure application of applicable codes, standards and internal guidelines
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years’ experience in mechanical system design to support industrial facilities and processes.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Five (5) years’ experience in mechanical system design to support industrial facilities and processes including dust collection, HVAC, building automation systems, and utility systems.
Proficient in use of project management skills for developing timelines, budgets and coordination of activities
Proficient communication and documentation skills
Proficient at using electronic tools for design, documentation and communication
Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment
Travel: May include up to 25% Domestic Travel
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
