The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Privacy and Compliance Analyst will be part of the PSD Connected Safety organization with functional reporting into the PSD Regulatory Organization. You will take direction from the division Data Privacy Officer while interfacing with several global product teams working on customer facing Industrial Internet of Things cloud, mobile, and connected devices-based solutions. You will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Supporting identification of privacy and compliance requirements across PSD business units.
Implementing data protection and use controls to maintain compliance with 3M policy and applicable regulations.
Supporting privacy impact assessments of new products or systems for the global market.
Monitoring and reporting on new hires' completion of required training.
Facilitating new business by locating existing corporate obligations in contract filing system.
Identifying compliance owners within the business and works with them to identify, track, and manage compliance plans.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Four (4) years experience working in corporate compliance programs or data privacy in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy or Information Technology
Experience identifying and tracking data use restrictions and assesses permissible uses and disclosures.
Experience identifying and tracking PII and PHI as it’s received, processed, and transmitted.
Experience researching federal, state, and international data privacy laws and determines implications.
Experience supporting research into industry best practices and emerging market developments that could impact compliance or data privacy risk.
Ability to succinctly summarize technical or legal issues for senior management action.
Travel: Not required
Relocation: Is not authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
